you dont really have to buy an ENTIRE set, but i dont think you have a lifter problem, im pretty sure you just need to get those valves readjusted. A stuck lifter can cause binding in the internals and cause huge amounts of vibration and whatnot. If it doesnt sound like a lawn mower under acceleration then get the valves adjusted or do them yourself, i suggest the engine running method if you're doing them yourself. But i highly doubt you have an exhaust leak.

This noise is different (Deeper) than any type of exhaust/headers leak that I have experienced (And I have so many times). Unless you have a HUGE hole in ur exhaust system which I doubt it, this is not an exhaust leak. Your Valves buddy.

adjust your valves. start on the side that the noise is most pronounced (if possible) after you get your valve cover off (huge PITA with stock air lines) with the car running listen to your valves by ear. if its a valve the noise will be distinct in one area and you should be able to pinpoint which need adjusted.

again I think it sounds like klacking which indicates loose valve train. You would hear more of a PSSSST PSSSST air sound with exhaust. Have you adjusted your valves on that side? I would have that valve cover pulled and have them adjusted ,before assuming lifters are bad.

sounds to me like a loose rocker arm. Get that vc off with it running and check it out. Also watch the pushrods to see if there is slack in one and if its "tapping" instead of moving it smoothly.
