^ I just welded the stock one up. It probably took about half an hour including smashing my prior mistake out.

just ordered mine from RDSPEED.com sat. for 22.00. but somebody on here told me they ordered theirs from the same place and it took about 2 weeks for it to come in

The answer is no. Just undo some of the tape on the wires already. This will give you the few inches that you need.
