Default Custom grind comp cam question

Comp cam custom grind camshaft (.50 Duration Intake .528 Exhast .520)

Specs are
lift .528 intake .520 exhaust
duration @ .050 224 intake 236 exhaust
lobe seperation 110

This is on a car I was thinking of buying. It seems streetable, but how do you think idle, etc. will be.

I am new to the domestic world, but I have been reading up to understand a little more.

Seems like the duration is similar to the lt4, but the lob seperation is lower and the lift is a bit different. Anybody out there that can give me a little help. Thanks

Are the lift numbers calculated out with 1.5 Rockers or 1.6 because the lift is a little on the low side if on 1.6's. The duration is bigger than the lt4 hot cam its more like the cc503 (224/230). It will be a streetable cam with probaly a little cam surge and the 110 lobe separation will give it a real nice choppy idle.

Where are the shiftpoints at, what gear ratio, what were his numbers on the dyno, and track times?

Only way to really know how well that cam is for that setup is to know where the shiftpoints are at. If the car is shifting at 6000rpm there is alot left out on the table. If its shifting at 6500rpm its right on the money. Of course if they are not where they should be now that can be changed with tuning. The size of the cam seems decent for those mods atleast IMO. Its pretty similar to my setup with the 224/230 and 3600 Stall and Full Exhaust and it works well for me. I do like the 110lsa, after talking to a very well known LT1 cam grinder, LT1's heavily favor tighter lsa's and the 110lsa is tighter than the 112's you mostly see for off the-shelfs these days so thats a plus.

thanks you have been a real help, I am thinking I will probably buy his car. I figured I would take it to a reputable tuner near me RPM, I think and let him take a look at the tune. I think mainly I don't want to get really bad gas mileage, but I have a jeep I would be driving most days. What about MPG, I am assuming it would be pretty low, but atleast the converter has lock-up because most of my driving is highway-city mix.

every car is different I get around 9-10mpg but I think something may be wrong it seems a little low. The fun factor will outweight the crappy gas mileage eventho it will take a hit at your wallet.

as some bullshit artists would have you believe. That is how cams were spec'd back when said bullshit artist was born. It was early crappy computer controls and emissions that drove the excessively wide LSAs we see in off the shelf stuff today, it was never right, and nobody "discovered" that LT1s like tight LSAs as compared to off the shelf stuff, guys just started using the decades old proven rules of smallblock cam selection.

I'de be a little worried about the longer than stock pushrods. If you buy it make sure you check the geometry.
