Default LT1 cooling problems

Hey guy's having a hell of a time trying to get the air out of the cooling system on my 69 camaro, the motor is out of a 95 trans am,I've tryed everything,so I got to thinking about the catch can or overflow, just wondering how it works on the lt1,the one on the car is a cheap one from autozone with just one line running from below cap to the overflow,on the lt1 sense the flow is reversed is there something missing like another line going to the overflow from some where else, sorry if this is a stupid question just new to the lt1.THANKS!

No, the overflow hose comes right off of the radiator neck into the bottle.

Sometimes the LT1 engines can be a pain to get all the air out of the system. You may have to do it several times, also it may help to put the front of the car up on ramps when you do it.
