heads?exhaust?questions.....stripped plug! HI all. Ok before the flamming starts on using the search feature. I have been adn continue to so I can figure out what where etc. So here we go. I have 95 lt1 trans am convert (my 3rd one). All bolt ons are in my sig.
about month or so ago my car started to sputter here and there at different parts of the rpm band. Then 2 weeks ago "pop" a plug blew out. Whoever changed the plugs before must have cross threaded it since the plug pulls out easily and hole is stripped. I think its number 7 hole. Nearest firewall driverside. I bought new plug to see if somehow diameter was off but hole is stripped. Being its my only car since daily driver was vandalized and destroyed only option I had was to jb weld...which held only for 2 weeks and had to re jb it! So now question. Obviously the heads need to be pulled and hole re threaded etc since no room to do it on the car. I wanted to eventually change heads exhaust etc. I figure since I gotta take them out what heads would you guys recommed, exhaust and possibly cam? I want to keep it somewhat street (occasional DD)with nice lil go power when needed? Budget is an issue and used parts are ok? Thanks in advance for ideas etc. Maybe someone had same situation.
