Default changing 93 to a 94+ ecu, weight question

I'm going to look at the car two hours from now! Please does anyone know!

I'm thinking of selling my 94 to get a 93. Few questions. I'm still going the nitrous route, and want to dyno tune the car. What all do I need to do to go from a 93 to a 94+ ECU setup? I've got a spare MAF laying around and I'm sure I can get the ECU without much of a issue.

The car I am looking at has T-tops, power windows and locks. How much weight is that over my hard top, manual windows/locks car? Thanks -Corey

Well if I stay with the 93 ECU I need someone to burn chips. So that means I would have to find a dyno, and someone who can burn chips near me. Or I can go with the 94+ setup and do a few pulls and be tuned.
How are you doing it? Do you have someone who can burn chips right there on the spot with the dyno?

I would like to know by tommarow, as that is when I am going to look at this car.

I was hoping it wasn't going to add that much weight, any more input from people about my two questions???

Any more info out there about changing from a 93 to a 94-95 ECU?? I'm guessing if I stayed ODB-I it would keep it easier.

So has anyone done this?

Different plugs on the PCM end of the loom, different throttle body sensors. You either have a lot of soldering to do, plus a throttle body change or stay '93.

About the weight thing Im going to say not much at all maybe like 20-25lbs. but thats just a guess. I forget the old weight of my fully optioned '95 but it didnt weight much more than my stripper '97 with t-tops. I think t-tops are about 10-15lbs. heavier than the hard tops. I wouldn't let the weight thing be a factor.

Lawrence, do you know someone or did you do it that way yourself? So I can modify the 93 harness to work with a 94-95 ECU?

yeah the weight isn't really a issue, but being able to tune this thing in real time, by say RevXtreme, on a dyno is really important to me. I don't want to spend money only to squeeze the trigger and have the motor go boom. So far as I know there is no one local who can burn chips to me. I have a 58mm TB for a 94+ car sitting here.

So can I just swap in a 94-95 harness and ECU then? Take the 93's engine harness out? I know that the cluster was driven by the ecu on 94+ cars also, wonder what I have to change there? I also know the 93s were batch fire, so I'm wondering if it is easiest to swap the whole engine harness. I'm just going to check this car out, so I will know in a few hours how seriously I'm thinking of getting it. Thanks guys.

Ok I'm not getting the 93. I don't think I'm ever going to contemplate getting rid of my 94. I was reminded today how lucky I was to find a completely stock one owner car when I purchased mine. The car I looked at would probably have been a lot faster than mine, but needed a lot of work cosmetically.

So I guess this can be locked, I'm done with it.
