Well Carbon Fiber is considered to be just as strong as steel (or stronger), so I'd say it'll handle a healthy amount. There's some sites that say what they'll handle. I just woke up, and the first number that pops into my head is 900hp.

Oh yea, much lighter. Ferrari wouldn't use all carbon fiber Body and only, like, 2 coats of paint, because it was heavy

I have one boxed up downstairs, couldn't use it due to the short driveshaft length required when running a S60 rearend.

I had it on my car for about 3 years, replaced the stock unit with it. My car rev'd noticably faster and it smoothed out all vibration at high speeds (above 65mph).

im pretty sure you can shorten driveshafts...just cant lengthen them and keep their integrity

lol I think shortening a carbon fiber shaft would be a tad costly. But, I'm just assuming, based on it being carbon fiber.

You can! isnt it awesome! well it depends on ur setup, the steel LT1 driveshaft is stronger then the LS1 aluminum driveshaft. but the ls1 aluminum driveshaft is lighter and will A. be weight reduction and B. add a few ponies because its rotational mass. (it will take less energy to turn a lighter driveshaft) From what i have seen if ur under 350ish rwhp a ls1 driveshaft will be fine....

with that said thats why im on the prowl for one

we ran one in a 400 rwhp lt1 and sprayed on top of that with MT's and 3500stall without issue, was afraid to trans brake it tho...... it had a brake but was still on a 10bolt and AL shaft......... i killed mine in my gold car, M6 tho with a non forgiving clutch.....

It won't add any HP, but it'll smooth out the high speed driving.

82-02 same driveshaft length. Seats are the same too.

well it wont "add" hp per say, but it will increase track times because of the lighter rotational mass. thats what i meant... i forget the rule exactly but isnt it every 10lbs removed of rotation mass = a tenth in the 1/4?

ACPT carbon fiber driveshaft... that's the one I have.

You guys really think my driveshaft is worth that much money? I know I paid close to $800 for it, but I figured seeing how it has about 10,000 miles on it I'd give it away for FREE... maybe even pay somebody to take it!

Tony I'll send you a response to your PM... Thanks.
