Default Is this true guys?

I was talking to the man who i thought would be doing the work on my heads and intake, and he told me that it is very unlikely for me to run mid to high elevens with a cam, ported heads, ported intake and a nicely stalled lock up converter. And if i did i would most defenitely under 120 mph... he said its just not very likely for an LT1.

I pull just as good of mph as the six speeds i race why can i do the same with more power, i mean i know i wont pull exactly as much but i should atleast be close right?

Thanx

Well the 6 speed does not loose as much power as the automatic does. Also with a 6 speed you can choose when to shift it as to with the auto your waiting for the car to shift. Now if you did some programing and made that car shift up higher and so fourth you would see a much better outcome.

just my 2 cents

he is out of his mind. you can easily dip a LT1 into the 11's with ported heads, intake, and a nice cam with a halfway decent stall (2800 or larger)and 3.42. LT1's do it all day long and if he cant seem to do it, then his *** shouldnt be modding LT1's.

I agree, LT-1's have plenty of potential to pull 11's with the set-up your thinking of. I've read of guys pulling mid to low 12's with nearly no engine work, just re-worked suspension and small items.

It's actually easier with auto's and a decent stall cause mostly all you need to worry about is tires and getting the suspension to work. When you take out the variance of the driver having to shift and not hitting the tires so hard cause of a clutch dump, its almost cake...Sounds like you may want to take your bidness elsewhere...

I'd say all that stuff plus radials and a decent launch and its possible! now i didn;t say Yes you deff, will but! Driven properlly with good weather conditions and a nice 60' times im sure u might be able to pull a 12.8! With LTs its a garuntee!
Good Luck!

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to. I've seen many LT1s do it before. I agree with the other guys. Get traction, drive well, and you should be in 11s good luck!

I think I'd do business with someone else...he may know his work won't do 11's...
