Default Shootout Carnage

A few of you knew i was having posi issues at the race, well after pulling the 9" apart i found the problem.

Twisted both Moser 31 spline axle's, and tweeked some wheel studs, on motor!!!
( driver's side took most of the load, passenger side wasn't as bad)

Looks like i am upgrading to 35 or 40 spline axle's with a spool, and some 1/2 wheel studs

That car is to nasty for such a small spline and non-spool

what 60s where you cuttin on those things? I've been running 31 splines for a long time now with a ton of mid 1.4s on em and they still looked fine last time I took them out. I swapped to a spool a long time ago though. Mine are also moser axles with 1/2 in studs

35s and a locker or spool will fix that real quick.

Thanks for the encouraging pics Brady! You know I have been waiting to spray my car with the kit I just bought. Pretty soon I'll have pics just like this but on my 10 bolt.

Holy hell, kinda weird that you had problems with a 9" at the shootout...yet I took my 10 bolt home from there with a clean bill of health Seems kinda backwards to me

Dont fawk around, put 5/8 studs in and fuget aboudit

WHat clutch is in the car? A HARD biting clutch most likely caused that.

Drivers side always has more load than the passenger side.

Moser allows so much twist in the axles then they will replace them with the next step up in splines. 5/8 studs would be a good choice

Im running 35's with a Tru-Trac along with 1/2" studs in my Strange. 40's might be a bit overkill, but then again I dont know your future plans for the car.

Ive got a few tricks up my sleeve to make the 10 bolt last behind an cammed lt1 on spray and a built M6 on MT ET street radials. Can't wait to see how long itll last though.

Dont think theyd help one on your car though haha

Moser axles, different carrier and diff, diff cover with braces connected to the middle of axles to keep them from flexing under acceleration, weld axles tubes, and I think thats most of it.

They look like pressed in studs. If you dont go to 5/8 I would atleast use 1/2 screw in.
