Default help with some oil burning

so my car burns oil when i really get on it at high rpms. so from what ive read, this means that i probably need to replace the pcv valve. but what is confusing is that when i am on the highway on the way to work...about 75-ish mph for a few miles....i coast down to like 45 for my exit, and when i get back on the throttle it will blow smoke out of the rear. any help is greatly appreciated.

also....the car is a 96 lt-1 a4 with a cam, 1.6rr, pacesetter longtubes, and the usual bolt ons.

thanks

Could be the PCV valve.....when you are not accelerating you draw the most vacuum & if it is dirty or stuck, it will pull oil through the most at that time. It is also a sign of excess ring/bore wear or a broken ring land. Check the PCV first, and then do a compression test.
