Default Crashed my camaro, so what should my next car be ?, To be lt1 powered :-D

Well sadly my i crashed my car last night. Coming back from denny's going to my friends house, a car damn near ran me off the road. I Braked immediately to let them just get in front of me to avoid them hitting my car. But instead of breaking and stopping, my car decided to lock up. Steering wheel, shifter, pedals everything that i wanted to use locked up lol. Also this all happened going 30mph while going straight . Anyways the car locked up and did a 180 into a wall messing up the left side fender, hood, and back of the left.

The engine looks pretty intact minus the dumbass air filter(that was positioned underneath the car because of the procharger set up) and the mass flow fell off. I think the intake is also hanging but thats about it. The intercoolers are still intact and the engine/transmission SEEM fine to me.

So basically im looking for another car because i had only liability and not full . And even if i did have full i would of sold it after anyways. For some reason im thinking about getting a 3rg generation rx7 roller and maybe putting my lt1/t56 in it. I saw another guy with the combination and it looks pretty sick. His has about 505whp n/a and runs 10s. Also another friend has a stock ls1 rx7 with a stall converter and runs 12.14s with slicks.

So basically what other cars could i swap my lt1 engine into that wouldn't be extremely difficult. So far rx7 is my first choice. The procharger will more than likely be going into the set up as well

On a side not. After the accident for like 40 minutes, almost everything i touched thereafter i zapped. i touched the antenna on my car and actually saw a jolt of electricity come out of my finger. it was pretty crazy lol.

I've been TRYING to talk my friend into doing this, taking a 4x4 S-10 and making a Typhoon clone. You'd need to get the AWD transfer case out of a AWD Astro Van. Might want to see if there's a way to get it built up though, I doubt it could handle a Procharged LT1 :\

Or a Cyclone, if you'd prefer a pickup, but the Typhoon would have the weight over the rear for improved traction.

Well... since you crashed it I'd suggest a Caddy Brogham, or an Impalla SS... something BIG and SLOW.

seriously though, if you're looking for a project car to swap in an Lt1, Why wouldn't you just do the same thing and use a LS1? Their fairly cheap now, stronger in stock trim, and lighter... as well as easier to package.

You could even do a FWD LT4 with DoD or swap it into a Fiero for some real fun (there's some guy on this board who posted pics of his... nice).

Lots of options out there better than a LT1 for a swap.

I vote Fiero as well. That will be fun. And they are cheap. If your going to do an RX you will not want an FC over an FD and even FD shells are more then most LS1 cars.

A Conquest would be the best, it has RIS like the Vettes We wanted to swap in a 318 that my buddy had, into mine, but we never got around to it and I sold it Ugh, it was painful, dropped a ton of money into it and got it 'fixed' just so the oil pump could take a **** on me.

COnquest's are HEAVY!

FC rx7

Or a Coupe Mustang, get a 4 cylinder coupe, pay 4 cylinder insurance. Light as hell.

AJE and Kooks make the stuff to do it.

Yea, we did a SBC swap into a Fox Body, but everything we did was 100% custom. From the motor mounts, to the 4 knuckle steering shaft, trans cross member and exhaust manifolds.

As for the Conquest, it's not THAT heavy. It's lighter than a Vette.
"Curb weight, 1260 kg (2778 lb) (narrowbody) 1340 kg (2954 lb) (widebody)"

I had the Widebody (big pic, but only good one really):

Narrowbody is just ugly:
