Default hitting rev limiter

most of the time when i floor my car i hit my rev limiter for a couple seconds before it shifts. i have tried every adjustment on the cable and have put a new cable on it and it still does it any thoughts my car is a 93 trans am lt1 thanks

Does it have a high stall torque converter??

I can knock on my Rev too, but not often. Might be a speed density thing (by that I mean 'dumb' computer and 700R4), but not sure.

When my trans started doing that. It was the beginning of the end. Sorry give you the bad news. Mine lasted about 2 months before it finally died. I eventually had to r/l it in all the gears. After a month of that it just dropped OD and 3rd. Time for a rebuild.

there is probably a thousand miles on the 700r4 it is a race tranny i do have a stall i think it is a piece of **** its suppose to be 3000 but when i had a 3000 in my truck it was totally different.

maybe your converter is slipping too much for what it should.

it doesnt feel like it has any stall at all i can tap the gas and it will go with my truck it would move but you had to rev it

When mine did that it wasnt long after that that i got the tranny rebuilt and all there was was metal to metal!!!

mine did that it was the tune I had done ,had the shift point adj and it was fine. Dont know if it matters or not my car is 95 with 4l60e.

A 95 is computer controlled shifting, the 93 was not.

May be a tranny tuning problem, like the mechanical shift speed adjustment set higher than the engine's rev limiter.

Also fairly likely is is just a bad build as there are FAR more guys other there that will screw this tranny up than can get it right. It is more about the guy putting it together than the parts used, many think all they have to do is buy fancy parts and slap them together without checking clearances and such and it goes BADLY.
