Ion did my tune and everything is good, but my car is rich. If I let the car warm up for 5 minutes I'll have 2 black spots where my exhaust dumps in my driveway. Basically a mail order tune is to get you by until you can get to a dyno and have your air/fuel set right.
He does great work, but my car will deffinately see a dyno as soon as I get my car back on the road

Spend the $$ and go PCMFORLESS I wish I did. Cheaper is not always better.

i used madz28 twice. both times i just drove to his house since i live only 2 hrs away. he tuned it when i did headers. just to delete codes etc. and the 2nd time was for my hotcam. car runs good. no problems soo far and spark plugs look great.
i think any re-tune after the first time costs 50 bucks no matter how much he has to do.

Also, remember there is PCMforless as well and Bryan over there is an excellent tuner. He is tweaking in my 383 setup now and the tune is spot on and runs like a dream. Great guy and just call him up if you have any questions. I decided to go the route of the email tune and loading the program myself and working with Bryan has been great as I send him datamaster logs of my car underload and he works with the tune to get it dialed in. Just my 2 cents as you outta check them both out as they are both very good LT-1 tuners.

If it were me I wouldnt get a mail order tune I would want the car on the dyno which is when I would spray the 150 shot for the first time and dial everything in perfectly for that size shot. I wouldnt trust a mail order tune when nitrous is in the mix but maybe thats just me. Seems alot easier to pick up any potentially dangerous issues if the car is on the dyno with the nitrous than not and I wouldnt do it any other way.

^^ Agree with the above. I wasn't talking bad about Ion, jsut said that my tune is rich and I'd like to get it on the dyno to see where everythings at. And with the 150 shot I'd want to be on a dyno to get the air/fuel right casue a poor mixture can blow the motor quick

to me, a mail order tune is good for bolt on's, anything more (nitrous, cam, FI, etc) i would go with a dyno tune...
and to insane auto, he pickedup the phone and anwsered my questions multiple times in a single day... he was very poised and relaxed on the phone and sounded like a great guy on a personal level and on a business level... he must of been either busy, out, or on vacation.... u got to remember he has to have a life too lol and he has to have time to work his magic... he cant be on the phone and working on our pcms at the same time!
