SO I put on a Holley 58mm TB and now for some reason my TB seems to be too long.... and it seems there is no way to adjust it... yay..... I do have ASR by the way.

So since i can not adjust it supposedly I need some idea's.... I am lost here. Basically I can push the pedal and it goes 1/4 before moving the TB. Same for WOT when floored I can move the TB manually further its not WOT... yay.

I will play with the TPS later for now I would just like to hit WOT.

did you port your intake to 58mm?? the stock intake will not support the 58mm TB the opening in the intake are to small to let the butterflys open all the way

or are you just saying your throttle cable has to much slack?? clearify

The cable has to much slack. Everything else is secondary and I was not saying anything about the IM size.

Get rid of the ASR and get a solid Cable in there, then work with that.

If there still is Slack, take out the Gas Petal and bend it a little bit. I had to do that with mine.

What year is your car? The throttle cable w/ ASR servo "does have" an adjustment and I can explain how it works.

No your right I have not done it yet. I wanted to make sure it worked before I ported it because I will take it off when I do that (The IM). Your 100% right. But at this point since I can not hit WOT I am not leaving it on as well... I can't drive the car like I want lol. And no I did not take offense.

I have a 96 Z28, if you know how to adjust it please tell me that would be perfect. (I have ASR)

The Engineer

The adjustment is accomplished using the “adjuster” on the throttle cable from the ASR servo to the TB linkage. Notice the square/rectangular plastic section about 8” back from the TB. Step one is to remove the plastic lock-clip from the adjuster (snaps off by pulling upward), then you just slide two outer sections (apart to have more TB opening “WOT” and together to get some slack in the cable, less opening). There is some minor ratcheting (detent) in the adjuster, but the two outer cable adjuster halves slide in and out. Then you replace the plastic lock clip.

Also, Holley LTX TBs have an issue with rotating greater-than 90 degrees (WOT) and that can cause a DTC (TPS voltage high). So, you may need to build a mechanical end-stop (as I did) to prevent this problem.

The cable adjuster is just to the left of the ASR servo with two red tie-wraps (extra insurance the lock says positioned).

Ok I get your WOT Stop pretty easily. However on the ASR Cable Adjustment I am not seeing it. I can take some pics of mine but with the plastic off I am just not clear on what I am adjusting.

I could just be misunderstanding but what exactly am I changing. I see the cable coming from the pedal and the one coming from the ASR to the Acutal Throttle itself. I am not sure where the adjustment is.

OK NM I do know what you mean I was playing with that piece all last night but I could not figure out how to adjust it. How I actually adjust the cable is what I could not figure out.

I will read your guide one more time and go play with it again.

I have the whole cable off now... it all seems solid not sure how I can move it at all... I know I am missing something just can't seem to figure out what.

You have to push down on the button on the cable you hand is on, that's assuming if it's anything like an old kickdown (which it looks like). It doesn't look like a button, but inside the plastic you can push in and it releases it's grip.

Just tried playing with it... I am guessing its the flat part on the bottom of that *** as I can get it to move in... after I put it back in because I pulled it out thinking it was a stop or something... however it does not seem to be taking in the slack or letting me adjust it... I even put it back on the car thinking it was that and nothing...

So I am going to reread the info I was giving and see if knowing this I missed something.... or see what else I can figure out.

I've got a 54MM, just put on, but haven't gone WOT yet. I only assumed the intake was ported on my car but I cannot be sure. I may do it later. What would you use? A dremel and then a vacuum for the the metal shavings?

54mm is the size of the intake. Most take off the intake, but you can do it with it on by using oil and packing it with rags and the like.

Ok I figured it out,...... def one of those moments where you feel dumb. Playing with it I got the plastic line to move in a way I did not think it would but I got it too.

Now sitting back I see what you ment.... I just did not get it..... yes I will take my Sign now... damn.

Anyway its still not going full WOT its not all that far off now but its got a little room left to move still.... not sure what to make of it yet but atleast I can now port the IM and use the 58mm like it should be lol.
