Default need help removing airbags!!!...and installing them

ok well i have a 94 trans am that i bought crashed and i bought a 96 parts car. i removed the hole dash out of the parts car because i figure i can sell it but i cant get the passenger side air bag out of the dash. i took of pretty much every bolt i could find and it does not want to let go. im sending my car to the windshield shop tommoro because when the air bag hit the windshield broke. the other thing i was wondering was if it would be better to put in the bag with the windshield out ..or if i have to do that.

thanks for the help, pete

Hey just wanted to make sure you know that the 96 airbag system will be different from your 94 as they use completely different sensors and SRS computers. Not sure if you knew this but you may run into issues if you go swapping out the sensors as on the 94-95 they had 3 sensors (front clip, indash, and in center console along with the SRS computer) the 96 and up has a single sensor/srs computer module. The bags should be good to plug and play. Good luck.

I could be wrong but I think the cover may be spot glued to the dash. I am just guessing this because I have seen parts of the dash go with the cover when the cover flys off when the bag is blown.

You know what, message TylerT14. I think he took one out with the cover still attached to the airbag. Check with him.

I believe if it's like most other GM's that the Airbag is glued in there.
