Default f u oil companies! ! !! !!!!!!!!!

With gas prices at record high, i going to build engine that can make decent power and still get 25mpg, with stock 3.42 gearing and 6speed, i hope

what about these combos:

le1 package with approiate goodies,long tubes, etc,etc
or
crane 227 with ported heads and with same goodies as above

can either of these two options come close to achieve my goals???

350rwhp would be really nice!! with just 350ci

what kind of mpg could i get with these options?>>

Lingenfelter CNC heads
LPE/Acell 211/219 cam
CC HiTech rockers
LPE Hardened pushrods
CAI (LPE Supertube is nice)
3.73 gears
Good clutch (I've always had good luck w/ Either RAM or Spec)
Good dyno tune
The above with emisisons legal headers running through a stock Y-pipe and cat(s) can yield ~350rwhp/350rwtq* and run in the mid 12's @ ~110mph and with LT's/ORY can dyno up to 370rwhp/350rwtq* and can get you very low 12's @ ~115mph given your geographical location/race weight.
The bonus is if' you're easy on the gas you can get mid to high 20's on the highway (once again, given your location) and this setup will be as dependable as when the car was stock barring it was installed/tuned correctly.

*dyno numbers are subjective depending no whether or not they are calibrated properly.

low compression + turbo will be the best of both worlds.

100k mile stock bottom end, gasket match your stock heads, stab in a comp 503 with 1.6's, full bolt ons w/ EWP, 6spd, 4.10's and street tires, make over 350/350 at the wheels, run 12.40's@114, and still get 24mpg on the highway with a speed density tune, and NO o2's.

that's what I did atleast... my next order of business is a zero-decked&balanced 355, then we'll see what it runs like with an efficient shortblock in it.

Ya it would be pretty awesome if we actually started using our own natural resources sometime soon so we don't have to rely on others for it..
