Car wont start no spark
well pretty much my car died on me when i tried turning it on, then it would smell like fuel. So i checked the plug wires and tried cracking it but there is no spark going to the wires. Is my opti dead? or could it be some other problem.

Don't know if you did or not but I would have got the coil and ICM tested at a parts store before assuming opti. Anyway...
put car on jack stands, or ramps
disconect battery
remove intake ducting
drain coolant
disconnect fans and remove
disconnect all coolant hoses on waterpump
remove waterpump (6 bolts) remove waterpump shaft
remove serpentine belt
remove balancer with a 3 jaw puller (crank hub can stay on)
disconnect opti harness, spark plug wires and coil wire ( number the wires as you remove them)
remove opti (3 bolts)
Use a E-4 inverted torx bit to pull the cap apart
Reverse to put it all back together
you will want to change the seals too in the timing cover 1 water pump seal and one opti seal , you will need new waterpump gaskets and some more coolant
