o2 censor problem

o2 censor problem
ok my 1996 camaro z28 will idle really weird and losse its power. i have a feeling it is my o2 censors. will this cause my car to act retarded and cut out while driving?

Is it throwing any codes and if so have it scanned and post them here. It could be a number of things including Opti, fuel pump, icm, coil, etc.. Give us some more info and we can help better. BTW - If your O2s were acting up it could cause these but most likely would throw a SES light.

i thought the same thing with mine. enigne light on and would occasionally miss at upper rpms, but ran fine at slower speeds. scanned it and found out it is the MAF that is cuasing the problems. get it scanned, the auto parts stores can do it for free.

ok i ran the obd 2 scanner on it...i do not remember the code numbers, but it came up with 2 codes one the said "system too lean (bank 1)" and two "system too lean (bank 2)" i checked in the book and it said that code 1 has to do something with my o2 censor and code 2 had something to do with my starter etc. i have been told that there isnt any way to check if the o2 censor is bad other than just changing it and going from there. what are your suggestions?
