None unless you make more than 500 horses. Possibly forced induction would benefit from it.

The screen is debatable, but definately the stock MAF.

the best changes to the MAF are with tuning.
you can run any MAF you want but
it won`t be optimal without adjusting your tune.

Does it come with new tables to put in the pcm?? Changing the size of the opening the electronics are in can drastically alter accuracy.

The screen thing comes down largely to the intake the MAF is installed in and how turbulent the air is while going through the MAF.

I'm using a 85mm MAF off of a Corvette Z06..it was a little easier to Tune for the Tables with my setup. Like said above, you don't need to go that big unless you are over 500hp of Forced-Induction.

FWIW, I am still running a stock MAF (de-screened) on my 95 Z28 in my sig with great results.

The ZO6 MAF when used on a LT1 maxes out at 361gps, my lowly little heads/cam car moves a fair bit more than that. People need to understand things but few actually do.

It can be tuned for above that point but basically the tune becomes speed density at high rpms and is not that simple.

My Tuner spoke of that as well.. he did some research and found that the 85mm MAF's were a pain in the *** in the high-end RPM's.

MAF always stirs a controversy. The MAF maxs out at ~471 AFGS. Straying from stock has been done with varied results.

Usually you won't max the MAF NA the only ones I have are supercharged or Turbo.
Is it worth changing? Not until you make ~>475 RWHP IMO
