optis failing help please

optis failing help please when an opti fail is it just the cap and rotor that normaly need replacement or what needs replacement? I just got a cap and rotor kit and sat and thought damn I prob got the wrong parts. please any info would be great this is my first time changing one out and I would like to get it rite the first time

If you're throwing codes (low res or high res) it's not the cap. Lousy running with no codes COULD be the (high voltage system) cap but it could also be the low voltage side of the opti getting weak. That's why for all the work involved most people change the whole thing.
