Default True duals w/not enough ground clearance

I have a 1996 z28 with Pacesetter LT's w/ dynomax oval race mufflers. I have problems with this setup scraping the ground. I love the sound of dynomax mufflers, but need to change. I dont want the bullets but thought about the round dynomax race mufflers. I dont want a catback system either. I need some mufflers which gives me some ground clearance. Just need some advice on what mufflers to use and the way to set them up under the car. No Flowmaster mufflers! Thanks.

Pics of the setup:

Got to have some mufflers man! It would be pretty loud without them.

That is one of the main reasons I went with Sweet Thunder chambered mufflers. Get some of the Stainless Steel versions and you will be good to go.

I went with 3" and an X-pipe and you can barely see mine. I went with the Flowtech mufflers, only 4" thick, but I also massaged my floorpan as well...It helps.

Here you go :

They sound awesome on a true dual LT1. I have them behind some Pacesetter long tubes, dual 3" with an x-pipe and turn downs before the axle. You will not be disapointed!

I don't know how well the dynomax ultra flow round muffler will work if you already have clearance issues with the ovals because i believe the 3" ultra flow round muffler has an overall diameter of 6". The current mufflers you have are 4 1/2 inches tall

No sound clips right now. I will have some soon though as the cam swap is almost complete. They will sound even better with a CC503...

I have true duals and I have 4 INCH oval pipe and have way more ground clearance than that.....

So I say invest in an oval setup from spintech... They make all the pipe... It ain't cheap but it's better than having .5" of GC...... Heres a pic of EXHAUSTZILLA.....

I think someone mentioned the Edelbrocks..I run the 3" SDT 304s and they are only 3 5/8" thick and tuck up very nicely...and they are great sounding and not too loud...

very nice setup outlawz
Thanks... but to the OP you have options...... A good exhaust guy that can get those muffs tucked, some adhesive heat shielding BEFORE you start, and oval spintech tubing..... I don't know if other companies besides spintech make oval muffs so there you might be screwed...... but spintech's rock anyways...

if you like the way it sounds with the ones you have now, ever thought about just taking them over the axle and out the back?
