96 trans am, Window fell off the track
Hey my driver door window is stuck all the way up, the motor runs but won't let it go down, I had started getting the door panel open and got most of it open but I wasn't exactly sure what I'm looking at or how to fix this........how do i fix this?!? lol, or is this issue better off "assuming the position" at the stealership lol, oh yeah, pictures would probably help if you have any, thanks

Remove your inner door panel, and that will give you access to the window regulator, and window. You'll have to re-attach the window to the regulator. Once you've got the door panel off, you'll be good to go.

The only part I have left to take out is the plastic door lock to take the panel off, the PO told me all that needed to be done was the window be put back on the track, he also didn't tell me it had a radiator leak and would need a new one(still my fault though), ....so I may need a new regulator, idk

Took the panel apart, I can see how it works alot better now, when I try to press the window to go down, the motor makes a buzzing sound, it goes up though, about a millimeter, is it still the regulator? I can't see anything wrong, the regulator rollers are aligned within the track, its just somethings making it not want to go down. thanks for the help so far guys.

I know this is a couple months old, but I wanted to say thanks. My d/s window has been stuck up and making that buzzing sound for about two weeks. I swapped the motor and it works fine. Luckily for me, the previous owner already had the holes drilled. It took just over two hours to figure out what the hell I was doing and get it done, but it wasn't all that bad.

had similar problem on my 95. bought a replacement motor and started to do it myself. with no help and the thought of breaking the door glass, and what that would cost, i finally just took it to a competent auto glass shop. glad i did. the install was reasonable the track where it bolts to the window was corroded and had to be replaced. they got me the new part, installed, the motor, and properly alinged the door glass. guess what, no more wind noise above 70 mph., or leaks in the car wash. money well spent!
