I did NOT search here since I assumed you already did, but I saw a detailed writeup either on Impala Forum or LT1 Tech. Look there the thread was thorough and accurate.

Rather than wait a day and a half your internet also has a search capability

Try
http://www.dogpile.com/

type in lt1 obdII to obdI

look at results I bet you will find

"94/95 LT1-Edit
Do you have a 96 LT1 and want to use a 94/95 PCM to run it? Yes you can! It works fine. Here is a link to what you have to do: OBDII to OBDI Conversion.htm "

Read and you will see the details that I spoke of...or you could visit the sites I suggested

Good luck

You can actually use the 94 engine harness on your 97 engine and every thing will be great

There will be a few sensors that do not have wires(Crank sensor, one check vavle) but every thing will be great

We converted my car to OBD-II in 01

I 'think' the OBD-II harness will plug in and work fine. Give it a shot

Personally I prefer to avoid the "I think" and follow the link that I provided...but it is your choice, someone will follow the link and post the how to do it and be considered a genius...so wait a few days!
