The only thing I would wander about is whether or not there is a spot for the coolant crossover tube that runs from one head to the other on the back of each head. Me and my buddy were curious as to whether lt1 heads would go on his 383 sbc...

If you are going with a carb just go with a Gen 1 block, no sense in creating all the hassles associated with converting engine parts, though it is possible to convert, not simple though.
Have you actually looked into what it takes wo make the injection work and how well it works? Many guys who have gone carbed regret it.
