true dauls give me the opionins
i'm going to take my car down to the local muffler shop soon. Here's my idea straight from the manifold's run true dauls into bullet style muffler's then turndowns befor the rear axle. How's that sound it'll cost me around 150-175. Think i'll go with 2in pipes that sound good will it sound nice. I'm going to get the longer style bullet muffler's cause i don't want it to loud

Another vote for long tubes with x pipe/2.5" duals. I love mine... the cops? Not so much.

3"-2.5" weld on reducers - Hooker Headers 11040HKR $31.95
X pipe - Flowtech 53620FLT $42.99
2 Dynomax bullet mufflers - Dynomax Performance 24215 $39.95 each
The exhaust shop charged me $300 for labor and the exhaust tubing. They made their own turndowns before the axle.

I'm thinking about this. Say goodbye to the catty straight pipe's from the manifold's maybe an x pipe into bullet style mufflers with turn downs. X pipe maybe if the guy has one on hand when i get my next pay check i'll do it but not now

In my opinion, there's no point in doing true duals if you're not going to do an x pipe. Plus, I had a friend that had duals with no X on his LT1 Formula, and I thought it sounded like poop.

If you have a good exhaust shop around you can buy the universal X-Pipe kits out of summit or jegs for just under $100 , pick two mufflers, have the exhaust shop make a few select tweaks to the pipe...voila! I have had 3 sets made this way.

My opinion is to buy thye long tubes first. That way you do not have to change the exhaust down the road.
Like alot of other people, I went with a Jegs universal X-pipe kit, two mufflers and two turn downs. I had a local exhaust shop weld it all up for me. It sounds awesome.

I had long tubes with true duals dumped at the axle. Sounded like *** at anything less than full throttle. However at full throttle it sounded a little like a de-tuned Nascar. Finally got true duals out the back, expensive but I love the sound and didn't notice a performance decrease either. Dumped is loud and nothing else, out the back can also be loud, but has a more refined sound.

If you don't want loud you don't want dumped. Not to mention the fumes that get sucked into the car. Run them over the axle and out the back like they are meant to be. All you gotta do is remove that one brace. Check the vid in my sig to hear what aerochambers sound like out the back.
