Default What happens when you burn the clutch instead of the wheels?!?! (PIX)

I was at a track day event with some friends in a local group/club. I had already run 6-7 times but wanted to get in a good burnout prior to the next run. I setup and start spinning,.... or so I thought. After about 4 seconds of high RPM and no smoke from the rear it dawns on me and I let off .... Backed it up and parked it for the next hour. I did try it a few more times and it was okay. I Drove the car for quite a while before finally getting the new clutch and flywheel in and it felt like it drove alright. Anyway, here's the old stuff. Let me know whatcha think.

Oh, should also add that the clutch and flywheel in the picture were only a year old.... I need to get photos in daylight to better illustrate the glazing and gouges on the flywheel... hahaa...

You should've seen the clutch I just had taken out of my car. I did the same thing, except I was spinning and hit 2nd, and just burned the clutch. It didn't help that I drove on it for about a month or so before replacing. I wish I would've taken pics of it. It was only put in a few months before I bought the car, back in January.

Spec stage 2 clutch. I was never a big fan of Spec clutches and the way they grab. I drove a friends car with a stage 3 and another friends with a stage 4 and they both grabbed so hard, figured if I put a stage 2 in mine it might be a bit smoother. wrong! Sucker never had anything I would call smooth engagement. Great if your just looking to race everywhere but, it is more a cruising car for me. I'm in no way blaming the clutch for what happened though. I'l' get a line lock kit for the front brakes before I go at it again, whenever that may be. Not worth the $$$$ fixing clutches and flywheels.

As for who's car looks better, thanks. Its not so pretty at the moment though with a dent and some spots with paint problems. hehehe...
