488 LT1 at KC LT1 Shootout
Does anyone remember this car from the shootout? I just remember talking to the owners fairly drunk and hearing them say it was all motor capable of 9s. I didnt really catch any of their names. I was just curious if anyone knew any more of the car/owners etc.

there is a local guy here in kc with a 408 but dont think he is capable of 9's.
anyways i think a 488 lt1 is impossible. there just isn't enough room for that stroke and bore. hell i know the guy had a hardenough time getting to 408 w/o hitting water.

The Impala is a 434 aluminum Donovan block modified to take LT1 opti and mechanical WP. Is blown, has gone mid 9s at 146mph with a 1.5 short time.
In KS it shook the tires bending the antiroll and cracking the drum in the 4L60E, said he had a hell of a time getting it down the track with the antiroll tweaked.
He actually built two shortblock and sold the second one maybe a year ago to a f-body owner.
Someone on here was trying to sell "LT1 bowtie blocks" a while ago, believe they were 4.125 bore but he wanted several grand apiece.
