Default 488 LT1 at KC LT1 Shootout

Does anyone remember this car from the shootout? I just remember talking to the owners fairly drunk and hearing them say it was all motor capable of 9s. I didnt really catch any of their names. I was just curious if anyone knew any more of the car/owners etc.

there is a local guy here in kc with a 408 but dont think he is capable of 9's.

anyways i think a 488 lt1 is impossible. there just isn't enough room for that stroke and bore. hell i know the guy had a hardenough time getting to 408 w/o hitting water.

All motor nines are not hard to do, but that many inches would be. It probably gets bigger as they get drunker.

Maybe its a SBC car, and they were just calling a LT1 since it was in a 4th gen chassie and drunk? Lol

To make one live it would take an aftermarket block. Dart, Donovan, etc, make tall deck blocks. As much stroke as it would take you would have a hard time clearing the camshaft with a stock deck hight. That would not be an LT1.

The only one I can think of was the Impala. It was let in for the show. He Popped it in the burn out box and it did not recover. I am pretty sure it had a blower on it.

It was pimpping a modified aluminum Block and big cubes.

Anyone else is blowing smoke

The Impala is a 434 aluminum Donovan block modified to take LT1 opti and mechanical WP. Is blown, has gone mid 9s at 146mph with a 1.5 short time.

In KS it shook the tires bending the antiroll and cracking the drum in the 4L60E, said he had a hell of a time getting it down the track with the antiroll tweaked.

He actually built two shortblock and sold the second one maybe a year ago to a f-body owner.

Someone on here was trying to sell "LT1 bowtie blocks" a while ago, believe they were 4.125 bore but he wanted several grand apiece.

He tried the MSD and went back to stockers.

Thing still has a stock pcm, LT1 intake, 4L60E, 8.5" 10bolt and a bunch of other parts that "wont work".

you are barking up the wrong tree there

8.5 has been a great rear end

I have 4L60Es in the nines

Modified stock intakes every where, Lets face it who needs an intake with boost?

Stock PCM in all our cars.

I am well aware of what he had I was there
