Default Shift Points

Well I started tuning and realised how low my car has been shifting . For 1 I just tried using Datamaster to log a run and saw that my highest shift was 1 to 2 and it was only at 5,825 RPM's . I'm kind of curious what the LT1 is capable of shifting at stock and what area is best ? My cars an auto and I rose that shift by 2 MPH and it was that low so stock must have been even a little lower lol .... It just seems like that being my highest RPM is kind of low ....

You'll get valve float above 5800rpm if i'm not mistaken on an LT1 with stock valvetrain.

Hmm .... Kind of makes sense . It is an auto Corvette and my tach does go to 6 . I thought that 6000 RPM's atleast would be safe without float . If that's the case where is the only weakness the springs ?

There's no real reason to even rev that high with the stock cam. The Stock cam will drop power substantially after it's 5200rpm peak.

My car is running the stock cam and even on stock tune pulls higher than that and is pulling at its hardest in that range ....

Weird .... I looked at datamaster dyno graphs which I know aren't all that accurate but my HP continued to rise until past 5500 and torque leveled off some there . I guess Ill have to go to a real dyno sometime to see what really happens there . I just assumed that atleast the m6 guys would be pulling a little higher than that .
