Exactly Right, automatics are the only way to go at the track. I watch people with 6 speeds every weekend at the track. Either spinning, missing a gear, and very inconsistant. Obviously this guy doesn't race.

and i would rather choose auto so that way i dont have or make an excuse of not shifting correctly or loosing a race....i seen people who can drive there 6speeds and for some reason miss "2ND" gear and loose over $500 in that race...i dont know how he missed 2nd but he sure did and it was bad..lol...

Or you could learn how to drive and be fine with a manual I've never had a problem that I couldn't solve with more attentiveness at the line and between shifts. Auto's do nicely on the track when properly stalled but equate to less fun on the street. IMO there is no greater thrill than rowing gears in a car with ample power

+1.

I have a street car, just like 90% of the people on this site. If I go to the drag strip, I can care less what ET my car does....MPH is king. Its tough to heel toe, late brake, and clutch kick out of a corner in a auto. So, as stated before, autos are for **** that are concerned with tenths of a second on a drag strip trying to impress there buddies with timeslips.

(FYI, my car used to be an auto, 3200 stall, 175shot.....went faster ET and MPH with the 6 gear)
