Default Need help for my lt1

Im in need of help for my lt1! We just got together my new motor and I started it there was a constant leak from the rear main seal so I pulled the tranny and put a new one in. It did ok for a little while but now its the same way! Also my car has been holding around 55lbs of oil pressure at idle 60 at cruise speed and it is going up 70 to 80lbs when you get on it! Is this whats wrong with the rear seal? I have about had it with this car nad I dont know what else to do with it!

Did you install the Seal the right way? I have seen people put it in where they install it backwards, and it does just like what you are saying.

The Oil Pressure seems fine..sounds like a really strong Oil Pump.

did you install the 97 style rear main seal or the older style? you have to be carefull installing it, if its not evenly installed it will leak.

Yeah I put the seal in the right way and tapped it in evenly! Maybe I should try a GM one instead of an Autozone part.

You have some other issue causing it. If you got it at Auto Zone it was probably Felpro and they for the most part make quality stuff. I have used their rear seals on lots of engines with no issues.

It's possible that the RMS 'housing' is tweaked, and you just need a new one.

This is the housing I'm talking about (which I'm sure you know from changing the seal out)

And we're 100% sure it's the seal and not the oil pan?
