Default opinions on this setup?

Hi guys, i will be receiving a descent amount of money in november for an accident i was in as a young child. I decided to use some of that to put into my car and then the rest will be used to get myself through college. My end goal is high 11's and this is what i have come up with.

rebuilt engine
LE2 heads
228/235 .560/.560 109lsa cam
performabuilt level 1
yank 3000 stall (open to suggestions here)
new opti, coil, elect. water pump, etc.
magnaflow catback
some descent used longtubes and ory.
a couple suspension mods

this is going to end up costing me alot of money so i wanted to see if i was on the right track. i know there are a bunch of guys on here who are very experienced in this and could tell me what's the right mods and what's not and any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Post up around how much money you plan on spending and what your intentions are for the car. Do you want it to be daily drivable, track car, etc.?

it won't be daily driven but i would still like it to have the ability to do so if i need to. i just don't want something so wild that i couldn't comfortably cruise on the highway for more than 30 min. And i would like to stay at or below $6,000 for parts, preferably below.

Bump for my little brother. He's trying to be smart about his setup, and I told him that you guys were experienced with these cars. Please help him
What I hear him say is that he wants to spend no more than $8K (including labor), he wants a full bolt-on heads/cam combo that will be reliable. As of right now it's basically a weekend toy, but in case it needs to be a DD, it needs to have atleast "fair" street manners. Thanks for the help.

Oh, and it's got to run 11's!

A Le2 should run 11's if you can 60ft the car. Even through a stalled a4 it should do 380-410rwhp depending on many variables.

Dont buy a cheap stall, it will suck up lots of power. Maybe bump it up to a 3200 or 3600. What gear are you planning to run? The stall, gear, cam combo is going to make or break the car. Choose them wisely and take advice from Llyod and other trans guys.

I dont know enough to give you accurate advice but i do know that they will play a big role in the performance of the car. BTW, if your not getting any advice here goto camaroz28.com. Way more LT stuff over there.

As far as reliability........ cheap, fast, reliable. you pick 2.

I'd definetly go Yank and would suggest the SS3600. I have basically the same setup and I love it to death. I will go with the SS4000 when the Tranny goes but the 3600 is one hell of a nice converter especially with the LE2 heads and a cam like that.

Dont forget a tune. A good dyno tune costs around 500. If its not daily driven then id go bigger than a 3000 stall.

I also dont see you running elevens very long on the stock rear. Need to add a twelve bolt to the list. Thats another 2 grand.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was really trying to avoid a new rear end even though i know it is the weakest part on the car. do stronger rear end girdles make any difference? i was kinda hoping the fact that i'm an auto would help with that problem but if it has to be done then it will be done. i don't want to cheap out on the car. And i have pretty much decided on the yank ss3600. i have also thought about spraying a 100 shot in the future, maybe a little more further down the road. so would the ss3600 be okay with that?
