Default Crank Position Sensor

Car was backfiring and threw a code that said crank position sensor. Is the car backfiring because the sensor went bad, or did the sensor go bad because it was backfiring? Car still stutters when I'm on the brakes at a red light, other than that car runs fine.

yea well sounds like igntion issue.. your wires aren't burnt? i'd def. look into the opti then... if everything else look's ok.. such as firing order, no burnt wires, goto shoebox's site and do some prelim. checkin w/ the meter.. and go from there..

I dont see the wires being burnt, they are shielded with the MSD heat guard wrap and arent touching the block or exhaust anywhere. only thing that i didnt replace is the ICM

well i wouldn't always count on heat wrap/guards.. i'd give them a good once over before going for the big expensive opti..

I'm going to go through everything again, more than likely there is a bad wire, if not all of them. Seems like you can't buy any performance parts worth a damn these days.
