Default 1.6 RT W/ stock cam/springs

is it advisable ? i plan on doing everything for a cam swap towards the end of the winter/ beginning of spring. so thatll be cam, lifters, hardened pushrods, guide plates, NSA Rockers and cranes 10308 spring set. my funds are however atad low and would like to buy pieces as i can afford them. could/should i install new pushrods and 1.6 RT rockers on stock springs ? my LT1 has 150k miles on her. i dont wanna do it and then realize after i F something up that i shouldnt of done it without also installing new springs. Thanks!

You can do 1.6rr on stock springs. But with 150K miles it might be pushing the limit of the springs as they are probaly wore out pretty good.

yeah thats what i was figuring. i dont wanna buy everything at once and i dont wanna buy parts and keep them on a shelf for 6 months collecting dust. and i also dont wanna install new springs on the heads and then afew months later pull the heads off and take it all apart again

I totally agree with you. But changing springs out isnt that hard, only take about 30 mins, and if you put the springs on for you cam swap, it will only run better with the stiffer springs on the stock cam. I had a factory spring on me and I was about to swap H/C. I just put the cc918's on with the stock cam and it did make a difference.
