Default LT1 in 1969 Camaro

Okay I have searched everywhere and cannot find out if I can use the 96-97 lt1 pcm in my swap. I have the stock wiring harness and pcm Im going to modify the harness to work but I cant find anyone who will program a 96 or 97 pcm. Seems everyone does the 93-95 pcm. I realize there is probably a reason for this but after weeks of searching every forum and website on Gods green earth I have yet to figure out why. Please someone help!!!!!

You can use either. On big difference you will notice is that the 96-97 will have missfire detection and downstream O2's. The downstreams will most likely be programmed out anyways. I have both OBD 1 and 2 cars and they have both been programmed by Muscle Car Specialties in Olathe, KS. They do wideband tuning on a dyno and also does driveability. Anyone worth going to will be able to tune whatever you bring them. If they tell you that you cant have what you want then they are trying to dumb you down to their level. Dont fall for it.
