Default I need clutch opinions

I need reviews from people who have ran different clutchs. I dont know exact power output because my motor hasnt been fired yet but it will be 850hp to the tires. Id like a clutch that will be somewhat streetable but hold the power when I need it. The Tilton is nice but to be honest I dont have 6300 bucks for one. Im thinking a twin is gonna be my best bet but I dont know how each manufactures disks react on the street

my only fear of a single disk setup is that it will be a bear to drive on the street and this car will see some street miles weither DOT says I can or not, lol. Iv never experienced how a twin engages or reacts to street manners. Thanks for the info guys

I agree....It is a pretty streetable clutch. I know guys that drive them on the street daily. Its go or no go though, you just have to get used to it. Once you get used to it, there isn't a problem.

McLeod street twin, drives like a stock clutch, engages quietly and smoothly. You can barely tell you changed the clutch, that is until you get on it and chirp fourth in a bolt-on car !

Pucks chatter like hell! I am saying that it is go or no go. You let out to fast and it will die if you don't have some gas going to it. its all in learning how to drove it. I am running a Spec 3+ and at first it was different. It feels like stock to me now.

Textralia all the way... look for any kind of feedback they have a pretty damn good record for satisfaction, also might want to look into specs many problems... been there done that, paid a little extra and happy instead of pissed when you have to change out a POS unit 9k miles down the road

All of the problems with Specs have come down to incorrect installation!

Over torque some of, or one of the bolts. There is a plate that comes with the clutch that should be installed behind the slave cylinder.......stuff like that

About that plate, I had a SPEC 3+ and when I got my tranny rebuilt the builder said I needed that plate behind my slave. So I installed it and the clutch would slip. This is on a used clutch too not a new one, so with the disk being thinner than new I would think it would have slipped even more with a new disk. So is it that some need the plate and others dont?

Its not the SPEC clutch that is the problem , its the shitty hydraulic setup . If you install the shim behind the slave , it puts more preload on the throw out bearing which in turn puts more preload on the pressure plate . The solution is not to shim the slave cylinder , its to increase the amount of fluid going to it via an adjustable master cylinder .
