Default my problem wasn't hydraulics...

i posted about a week ago that i couldn't get into 4th for ~1 sec, then it would go in...bled the slave (fluid was gross), pedal feels much better, car will shift into 4th fine now...

new problem--im not sure if i previously stated this, but the transmission has less than 1k, and now it is popping out of 4th. normal driving is perfectly fine, but if i try to shift above 4500 rpms and shift quickly, it will go in, i'll let the clutch out, and it'll pop out of gear

i am INCREDIBLY upset, as i have no desire to spend any more money on the car, especially the transmission

what could i possibly be looking at here? if it is definitely something transmission related, what should i have D&D (sponsor), do about it?

thanks

Do you have a stock Hurst or aftermarket shifter??

Either way the stop bolts may not be adjusted, which won't allow the shifter to move through its full range of travel, resulting in it popping out of gear.

To check them, just remove the upper part of the center console, shift into 4th gear, and see if its touching the stop bolt. If it is, simply loosen the locknut on the stop bolt and dial it back until you have a very small gap between the shifter and bolt head.

I see in your sig you're running a Pro 5.0 shifter, adjust the stop screws outward as the previous poster described.

If that doesn't fix it, you likely damaged the syncro teeth while you were having clutch problems. Back to D&D and hope they find something under warranty instead.

backing out the stops was the first thing i did, PRAYING it would help, but to no luck

the only thing that haunts me is the fact of pulling it out, having it shipped to D&D, etc. etc.

If it does not pop out under normal driving , its nothing major . It sounds like it could be a pilot bearing issue or possibly something getting stuck between the shifter stick and the shifter housing . Make sure your boot is not getting stuck between there . I am not that familiar with the boot setup on GM's but have seen it several times before with Mustangs .

yeah, thats what had me scratching my head...

as for the boot, i really dont think it would be possible for it to get stuck in between the two

Honestly, it's pretty rare for it to be an external tranny (ie hydraulic/clutch) issue if it's only giving you issues in one gear. Chances are you've got a bent shift fork or something similar and it will need to be removed and torn down to find the problem. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

yeah, i'm no longer being optimistic and thinking it is something clutch/hydraulics

i just hate to think of what it could be...does anyone know if D&D has any kind of warranty or anything of the like?

If they did not install an iron 3/4 shift fork, you may be needing that now.

i keep reading posts about problems with the 5.0 recently. Ive had mine for 3-4 years and have never missed a shift (due to the shifter).

Wonder if they changed the design?

Pro 5.0, I would say you need to adjust the stops on it and use a little loctite on the threads.

If the unit shifts fine with the stock shifter , its got to be an adjustment issue on the shifter . Pro 5.0 makes some of the very best shifters on the market .

It had to have been the stops on the shifter. Make sure you give them plenty of throw when in the gate for the adjustment.
