4 jackstands. The bottom of the car body about 14 inches off the ground. Air tool and about 2 feet of extensions keep your arms from dying. Take the crossmember off to have near unlimited access to trans bolts. Also have a buddy use a strap around the trans and hold it up from the shifter hole to keep it from rotating around.

I did mine (for the 1st. time) WITHOUT air tools & it took a good 2.1/2 hrs., thats at least a good 45 minutes os f%cking with the Ory to get it off, these trannys are easy, consoles somewhat of a pain but not too bad, the engine sits pretty good on its own & is fairly "N" balanced, but it never hurts useing a small bottle-neck jack for support. Just use 4 big jack stands & get it up so its comfy for you to slide underneath.

I've had the trans out so many times it's disgusting how fast I can do it now. It takes me 45 minutes by myself from the time I get the jack out until the trans is on the floor.

Only problem I have is that top bolt on the passenger side, my hands are far to big to get up there to line the socket on it. Other than that I think it took me 2 hours to get it out when I put the LS7 clutch in.

I usually put the front of the car up on ramps, with the ramps backward (sloped side pointing toward front of car). This frees up max space under the car, whereas jackstands up front always seemed to be in the way.

For the rear, just regular jackstands under the frame rails.

Something just popped into mind reading the title of the thread...

Way too good at trans removal means not too good at driving stick...

Nope, just one bad part leads to more breakage. Slave was bad, then tranny went bad, now clutch spring broke.

I'm just kidding around, I know these clutch systems aren't the greatest design in the world. I'm already considering a Tick Adjustable Master... just need to allocate some funds after just spending on heads...

I loosen the 6 k-member bolts. It makes it very easy to get to those agravating bellhousing bolts and easy to blead.

Got mine out in 32 min the other day, I made it a point to time myself and look at the clock. This is not including the time it took to fully drain fluid. I use a 2 post lift

It would be nice to find a floor jack adapter to hold the trans and not let it rotate when you are sliding it back from bell housing.
