Default Does your Textralia clutch rattle?

My Textralia OZ-700 rattles. At idle, with my foot off the clutch, it sounds like marbles in a tin can. Sometimes its worse than other times.

I spoke to the Textralia rep about this and he's never heard of this before. He's knows that the twin disk rattles, but he's never heard of anyone ever complaining about the single disk clutch rattling.

Does yours?

Sounds like maybe your pressure plate or flywheel bolts may have loosened up. Did you use thread locker on the flywheel bolts or get the GM bolts with the thread locker compound already in the threads??

I think I would pull it apart and see whats going on, rattling in a regular single disc clutch is never good. Wouldn't want it to come apart at high RPM's, that could be disasterous.

Funny you should mention that. Mine's apart right now. It wasn't fully disengaging. Textralia thought the problem was likely that the bolts weren't tight.

If you hear the ratting when the clutch is out and the trans is in neutral, theres a good chance you could have issues with the bearings inside the transmission. When the clutch is engaged, the input shaft is turning thus turning the countershaft as well. Several components are turning inside the tranny. You may want to check your fluid, and if its not up to the fill hole drain it out to see how much is actually in the tranny.

I've had a single and a twin disk Textralia. I had more issues with the single than the twin, but still no chatter GL!
