Default 03 cobra t56 swap

I have a friend that just took his t56 out of his 03 cobra. We are planning on rebuilding it, and my question is could I swap that for my 4l60e later on down the road if i want to? Are they no different than a t56 out of an f-body?

The input shaft is different and the type of clutch it uses is also different . You would need to swap the input shaft and front plate to Lsx style stuff for it to fit properly . After that , the rear of the unit has the shifter and crossmember locations in a different place as well as the speedo design being different . Probably much easier just to get a GM unit to begin with .

Thanks! I had a feeling that it wouldn't be that easy
