I'm new on the forum. And I'm in the process of swapping an iron block 5.3 into my 1997 240sx. I have everything figured out except what im going to do for a trans. The t-56 was my first choice. But after I looked around a quickly found out how expensive they were. So my next choice was a T-5 trans. I've already sourced one locally for a 97 6cy firebird. Ive searched all over the internet and called alot of different companies with no straight answer. I just need to know will a 97-02 6ycl T-5 bolt up to my 2001 5.3. If so what "special" clutch and flywheel would I need to use? Ive also heard of guys having an LSx bellhousing redrilled to fit the stock 240sx transmission. All replys will be greatly appreciated.
