T56 rebuild-want opinions-pics inside
tranny was grinding/not wanting to go into 3rd gear. here are some pics of 3rd. what would you replace?

You cracked the steel ring on the 3rd gear side . Once you have the 3-4 hub pulled , take the ring in both hands and pull on it . Look for a crack in the small notched out area of the ring .
Its the area in picture # where the stamped key fits into the steel ring on the right hand side of the 3-4 hub .

If it were my tranny, for starters...
I would replace all those parts associated with 3rd gear.
Even the gear itself doesn't look healthy.
A powershifter , huh ? lol

haha...........yeah, it is.........not my car/tranny, though. belongs to Jester from the GTO board. and, as far as i know, i powershift my car more than he powershifts his.

From the pics (and maybe it is just my computer/shadow) but 3rd gear also looks damaged itself. So, as stated, any and all parts related to 3rd gear needs to be replaced. Now of course is a good time (if you have not already) to upgrade...steel shift fork, bronze pads, etc..
