Default LS1 T56 to LT1

I have a 2002 ls1 t56 in my now totaled ta. I am looking at buying this 94 ta and I want to convert my t56 to work in it. The tranny has new master/slave clutch through out bearing, pretty much most of the mechanical components. Is there anyway to use the same clutch and setup and just swap input shafts?

You would have to switch out the bell housing as well. I'm not sure if that's the only difference or not?? Maybe someone can chime in...

You need a different front plate and input shaft.

so will I be able to reuse the clutch and pressure plate?? Since the clutch is a push style instead of pull?

I am going to say no because the slave cylinder is too long thus the reason the LS1 uses a longer input shaft to begin with.

Yep.

List of parts (I did this swap, but the other way):

Input shaft
Midplate
Bellhousing
Hydraulics
and since you are going LT1, you will also need:

Clutch Fork

Are the bearings the same for both shafts as well?

Just swap the entire LS1/T56 setup into the 94. If you still have the 2002 donor car, you have everything you need to do the swap, save for the wiring modifications.

Wait a minute....if he does that, flywheel is different, and LS1 stuff is internal balance. I thought LT1 is external (and that part I could be wrong on, not familiar with LT1 balance, external or internal)
So, if the LT stuff IS internal, you could swap flywheels and clutch over to LS1, and use the LS1 tranny.

Let me re-phrase that. Swap the entire LS1 engine with the LS1 T56 into the 94. He's already got a wrecked 2002 T/A with everything he needs for the engine/tranny swap. It's an easy swap.....
