D&D = great to deal with and very helpful

Default mounting points

Hi all

I want to use a t56 magnum for my bmw swap. There is a mounting kit out there for the t56 so I am wondering if the mounting locations are the same or if I will have to make new mounts. I figured you guys would know from your exploits in fitting one in your cars.

I have an e39. Don't think Vorshlag makes a kit. Someone else does. I guess I could call tremec.

Last I heard they were doing e39 swaps....

scratch that, you have a 5 series. I would contact them anyway and see if there is anything that swaps across.

there is a swap kit for both the I6 and V8 subframes in the 5 series, but both have tranny mounts for the t56. I know the shifter location is different on the magnum but I am wondering about mounting location. Will call tremec. I keep forgetting to do that.

An update to this thread incase others are finding it.
I talked to Tremec this morning and they referred me to Hanlon Motorsports, 610-469-2695, ask for Bob.
Have all of your information concerning your shifter issues (i.e. measurements, clocking, etc).
After talking to him I will be getting my Tremec shifter modified/machined for a 2" 90 degree offset clocked at the 7 o'clock position. But, I have to get photos/measurement to him this afternoon.
The cost is very fair considering all of the other options out there for offset shifters...

Bob and Linda (the gatekeeper) are great to work with...helped me tremendously with my transmission issues.
