Default M6 Swap Harness...Worth It?

I'm converting my car to M6 soon...parts are on the way. I found a wiring harness meant for people switching from A4 to M6, but want to ask those of you who have done the swap if it is worth it? Here is the eBay link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

If it will be significantly easier than splicing my existing wiring, then I want to know!

Very little splicing to be done on the swap, guess it just depends on how comfy you are with wiring. I hate wiring and the m6 stuff was a cakewalk.

I've done plenty of automotive wiring over the years...not like a whole car or anything but stereo and speaker installs, basic repairs etc.

I understand there are a few connectors to source for the swap, and that there can be an issue with reverse afterwards. If the harness solves that and makes it wham bam plug and play, I want to know. Speed is key for this swap...I have limited time before my wife gives birth and then I will have near ZERO wrenching time.

M6 is the factory option for the T56 six speed manual transmission. The 4 speed automatic was option A4.

No need to be sorry. Everyone is a noob at one time or another.

Not true...

Read the sticky....there are several good write ups besides that one on how to do it also.....heres 2 of em.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...k-warning.html

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...onversion.html

Its seriouisly not that hard....I am the super n00b of all n00bs for wiring...I cant even wire up a gauge cuz im too scared....but this was seriously easy.

only one wire that i was a little nervous doing was running the reverse lockout to the PCM.

That's the one that seems the most challenging, and I DO want reverse lockout to be wired up right away.

Let me go and read those stickies.

Yes, M6 means a six-speed manual T56 transmission.
