Default How much will my ram powergrip HD hold?

ok heres the story I had a ram powergrip hd on my head/cam spray ls1. Worked great, no slippage at all under power

The factory rates it at 600/600. But Now I have a 408 with a heavy hit of spray, and I know Ill be going way over that number. Can this clutch hold more than what they claim am I forced to replace the clutch

The clutch is near new if that makes any difference, If it wont make it i guess I could sell it in the classifieds

I have had two in my 408 N/A and both have slipped within a few thousand miles with no track times. Hell, the car is just a weekened cruiser. My next clutch will be a GM LS7 clutch.

I might suggest a nice twin disk for what you are going to put on it.

An LS7 won't be enough for you.

X2. You have surpassed the limits of an organic disc and need a pressure plate with a higher plate load.

I was told 600 ft/lbs rating for the RAM910 clutch I ran. I was only making 440rwhp/385rwtq and it lasted 20K miles before giving up. I didn't do a ton of drag racing with it but did road race it and drive it pretty hard. Pedal pressure was very very firm and it chattered like a SOB if you didn't slip it just right.

Get a Textralia OZ700 or Exo-Skel twin disc.
