Default T5 World Class Upgrade Options?

I have a T5 WC running behind a Gen 1 (1973) 350. The motor is not assembled yet, but here are the parts I have gathered:

Performance Products RPM Air Gap-style Vortec intake
Edelbrock E-Tec 200 Vortec aluminum heads
Dual springs
1.6 roller rockers
flat top pistons
1.75" block hugger headers

With a moderately aggressive hydraulic roller cam, I think this all adds up to torque in the mid 400's. This will drive a car that is only 2400# (240Z). It will NOT be a drag car. After I get her running I will probably take it out to our 1/8 mile strip and do a few passes just to see what she does, but I don't run the strip regularly and I'll be on R-compound race tires, not drag radials.

My question is, what upgrade kits are out there to make the T5 a little more stout? I know about G Force but if I had $2000 to blow on my transmission I'd be running a T56. I'm a working man and I need a solution that I can slap into my T5. I am hoping that between the car weight and the fact that I don't do drag launches, I will get away with my World Class in this car.

Any help appreciated.

Which T5 are you running? There are different units with different gear ratios. This makes a big difference in how much the unit can handle.

That unit uses the same gears as Ford uses in their Z spec box. The next upgrade would be the G Force type gear kit.

Thanks for the input; that's all I have been able to find, too. It looks like the best thing to do is just rebuild it to WC factory spec. I plan to run a 3.53 Helical LSD behind it.

Tony @ Astro is a good guy but unfortunately, there are not many options for the OP unless they want to spend the big money on an after market set of gears.

OP?

Astros list price for the A5 gearset is $1295 which is good for 450 ft/lbs and 550 hp... not sure if they offer an input shaft length that will work with this setup though. What bell is going to be used? The Thirdgen Fbody Bell?

OP = Original Poster.

$1295 is fair (seen it for $1250), but the point is that I don't want to spend that much. Since my post, I have heard from several people running these World Class transmissions in cars at the same weight as mine, and they do fine so long as they are in good shape. I'll rebuild mine before dropping it in and should be good to go.

Tony use to offer the correct input shaft for the GM application to use the A5 gear kit but as far as I know, no longer does. The only input shaft he offers is the commonly called "fox body Mustang" length with a 26 spline shaft and a Ford pilot tip.
