T-56 rebuild 5/6 gear Reading the rebuild posts, it states that the 5/6 gear needs to be removed with a puller. I've got my trans apart and the 5/6 gear came off the main shaft with very little effort. Seems like it just slid right off. Is this grounds for concern? The splines on the main shaft and 5/6 gear appear fine.

No concern, no. Most times they do just that.

The "fit" of that spool gear is 50% spline and 50% interference with the journal. If is not a snug fit, it will eat up the spline over time.You may get lucky and improve this with just a gear change but it may take a new shaft as well.
