Default clutch ? on ls1

I lost my clutch again.I bought a used one from a guy.He told me if was out of a ls7.

I have a 01 Z28 with a t-56.

i lined it up with the flywheel when i got it home and the doll pins dont line up on the clutch.I called the guy back and he said get them pressed out of the flywheel" alot of people do it".After looking at the flywheel it seems to make sence but The pressure plate is deeper.

My ?'s

Will pressing the pins out **** me and send it outa wack?

Can I run a longer bolt with out screwing my self either?

Any suggestions gents would be greatly appreciated. Im im tired of jugglin this trans.

Yes, most people don't run teh dowel pins.

Not sure what you mean, "Pressure plate is deeper" though????

Not sure why you would need a longer bolt...what bolt are you talking about?

No pic needed, just verification was all. Stock bolts will be fine though, even though it is always good to buy new when replacing clutch....

Heres the clutch.Sorry about the res.I just shot'em and put'em up.Is this a ls7 clutch

This is what im talking about. The plate doesnt sit right. There is space between the "basket" and the flywheel. These are the bolt from the bellhousing in.

The left one is my old bolts. They are to damn short to thread in.Can I run longer ones safley.

First things first...what is up with your "basket" (also known as teh Pressure Plate)??? From teh looks of teh picture you included, is not anywhere CLOSE to sitting flush.

Can you get some different angles of it?

have you tried fitting the PP (pressure plate) on the flywheel, WITHOUT teh disc sandwiched between? What happens then? There is no reason for the PP to sit that high off the flywheel...

I thought maybee a diffrent style..................Dunno

was there a mistake in the sale

Sorry got caught on the phone for a while.

It looks like once the pins are removed WITHOUT the clutch plate it would sit flush.I do have a used spec stg 5 disc i could use but it was shot when my slave blew up and pissed fluid all over it.

do I get ahold of this cat i got it from and let him know there was a mix up,whatcha think?

That is weird, I will say that. Are you saying that in teh LAST pictures just then, that you have NO disc and teh dowel pins are removed? WTF????

Only explanation is it is floating in mid air.

Hate to do this, but can you get pics of the bottom pf teh PP? Disc? Flywheel? By themselves?

Having a hard time seeing what is going on, as I will also say that the image's are NOT very clear, and hard for me to see everything also, so....???

You can not use that clutch with your flywheel, you have to get the LS2/7 style flywheel. The mounting points are raised.

i have 413whp and i dont see how anyone can speed shift or dog a car as much as i do and its still good after 40k miles. No clutch can beat it for the $$$$$. Just so you know they are self adjusting! The clutch will engage right off the floor at 1st but it will works its way up to the top of the pedal as it breaks in
