Angry 60mph+ vibration Need help only when off of the throttle

Got a 98 Camaro. Tick Performance 6 speed, spec clutch, cromoly driveshaft, and a 9 inch.

Just got the Tune done on the car and have been able to drive it a little. When I exceed 60 mph and let off the throttle, the car has a vibration in it. Can't really feel it through the shifter. If you get back on the throttle it goes away. The faster you go and let off of it the worse the vibration is.

U-joints are good
transmission mount is good
nothing loose
pinion angle is good

Everything seems to check out other than at the tailshaft where the driveshaft goes in. I push up on the driveshaft at the yoke and find that it moves some.

How much play should there be in the yoke at the transmission?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

sounds like you may have a bearing going? I've had a vib also and that was one thing I checked. I should be tight little or no movement.

Set your pinion angle to 0* since you have a 9". Mine use to do the same thing until I pulled the pinion angle back to 0*.

I don't think it is a bearing going bad. It still does it when you put the car in neutral. It does it if it is in a gear or not.

Maybe a bearing for the output shaft or yoke?????

I would check the pinion angle like Barney Mobile said, could be the out put shaft bearing if there is a lot of play. what about under accel????

Pinion angle is dead on. It doesn't vibrate under acceleration. Only when you let off of it to slow down.

I have the same thing you are explaining and I have not been able to figure it out yet. There is a lot of good info in my thread though:

I think I will check tonight when I get home and make double sure the driveshaft is going in far enough. I put adjustable control arms on a while back and made them the same length as the ones that came off. But still going to check to see if that may be the problem.

Thanks for the help. Let me know if anyone has anything else to check.
