Default 9310 27 spline vs stock Z06 30 spline

Which one/ setup would be stronger? Is the TR-6060 mainshaft the same as the T56?
Thanks, Dustin

The thicker 30-spline shaft is stronger, but requires a swap of both trans and rear to utilize it. The 9310 27-spline is a nice step up over stock and allows retention of all other stock components.

The TR-6060 units have a thicker output shaft, but not compatible with T56 components.

The 27 spline aftermarket mainshaft is a stout piece. I've actually never had one break after being installed.

I had RPM transmissions put the 30 spline in my MN12 Trans...had their Level 5 upgrade too....they had to machine my pinion gear to accept the 30 spline and used the 3 rip z06 case still with the RPM stage 3 390 upgrade

Old thread, but just wanted to add my experience for anybody searching this in the future.

Just broke a 9130 G-Force 27 spline main shaft in my car. Never had a drag radial or slick on the car, never been to a drag strip and I never wheel hop it. Just drive it on the street and autocross it. 767rwhp with a Dyad twin disk. Had Michelin Pilot Sports on the car for most of the 2 years the shaft was in the car. Currently have a Toyo R888 on it.

Consensus of the owner was wheel hop did happen. 27 spline is just carryover for no good reason. The transaxle was fairly clean sheet design. No need to go with that size except "That's what we've always done and the vehicle GVWR is under x,xxx lbs." In the end, a diff. bolted directly puts more force and vibration into the unit than a cylindrical driveline that dampens things.
